James A Randall, CVPM
Jim has been employed by Countryside Veterinary for the past 25 years. He is a native of Lowville who graduated with a Associates Degree from Jefferson Community College and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from SUNY Potsdam. Jim oversees the day to day operation of the practices and oversaw the expansion to Carthage in 1990 and Otter Lake in 2008.
Jim is past Treasurer and President of the Veterinary Hospital Manager's Association, an international organization with over one thousand members devoted to veterinary practice management. In 1984 he became a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) one of approximately 300 individuals from around the world who have achieved this certification which involves a process which includes active employment as a veterinary practice manager, 18 college credits in management related courses, 48 hours of continuing education specifically devoted to management and four letters of recommendation, after which an oral and written exam must be passed. To maintain certification Jim has to complete 48 hours of continuing education every two years. Jim is very active in the community including currently being Secretary of the Pratt Northam Foundation and Treasurer for Lewis County Chamber of Commerce. He has been very active with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Lewis County and is has held the positions of Secretary, Treasurer, and Concession Manager for the Lewis County Agricultural Society and has served on the United Way Community Review Board.
Jim has a dog Abby and a cat Coco. He has a large Lionel Train collection and runs The Butterscotch House Bed and Breakfast with his partner Carmen.
