            Countryside Veterinary Clinic is pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Thomas recently received the 2011 Dairy Preventive Veterinary Medicine Award at the AABP Convention in St. Louis, MO.  This very special award is sponsored by Merial and acknowledges those individuals who have made significant contributions in developing outstanding preventive medicine programs.

          Dr. Thomas is a Diplomat of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners ? Dairy and teaches courses through Morrisville and the Summer Dairy Institute at Cornell.  Actively involved in applied dairy research, Dr. Thomas also finds time to mentor the many student externs that spend time at Countryside.  In addition to providing nutritional and milking system analysis services to our clients, Dr. Thomas is fluent in Spanish and is actively involved with many of our farm's Hispanic employees.

          While not working at the clinic or on his own farm, (home to 4 horses, 17 beef cows, and 1 llama), Dr. Thomas can be found hiking, biking or skiing in the Adirondacks with his wife Tracey and daughters, Christy, Michaela and Danielle.  The partners and staff at Countryside Veterinary Clinic are honored and proud to have Dr. Thomas on our veterinary team.  Again, congratulations to Dr. Thomas!
